Plans are in the makings for the Northwest Florida Homeschool High School Prom!!! A good, clean evening of fun, dining, and dancing (for those so inclined!) We will be selling tickets three ways: for the dinner, for the dinner & prom, or just for the prom.
FOR THE FIRST TIME... It is going to be open to ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (and their dates or friends!). We also want to make it an area-wide event, including homeschool students from other support groups and counties. We are planning this event for either April 22 or 29. Location/time/details TBA (to be announced).
Right now, we are LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS!!! Parents & students who are willing to serve on planning committees, sell tickets, make phone calls (to canvas the area homeschool groups), decorate, chaperone, and help in general. We already have several places in mind and the DJ (don't worry!) and photographer are booked!
Please contact Lauren Mobley, the WFHESL Student Government Association President, at 497-0014 or e-mail her at sga@wfhesl.org if you would like to be involved!
Our first planning meeting is this week, Friday, 10 AM at CIAS. Anyone interested in getting involved, please come one, come all!!! Thanks for BEING INVOLVED! This is YOUR DAY!!!

Plans are finalized for the Homeschool Formal Banquet...finally! A group of our parents have banded together to plan the evening for their kids...many thanks!!!
It is going to be Saturday, April 30, from 7-9:30 PM at Angus Steakhouse. The theme is "Night Under the Stars," and the colors are silver and black.
Dress is formal attire- Guys, formal suits or tux's, no tennis shoes Girls, modest dresses, straps required (spaghetti acceptable)
Homeschool high school students are invited, ages 14+. We are currently taking names of all who are interested in receiving menus and information (dinners will be $25-30) right now. We will send the information to all interested by next Wed, April 13. All payments/menu orders will be due by Friday, April 22, so we are moving fast on this. We have room for 30-40 people, so it is first come, first serve.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Juniors and seniors (only!) are invited for Cosmic Bowling afterwards at Felton Lanes from 10-12 midnight. Dress is dressy casual. Parents are welcome to come/chap. We are pre-booking four lanes for the group. The kids will need extra money for this- shoe fee plus per game fees. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We want parents of all involved teens to volunteer to help/plan/chap/decorate. Our next planning meeting is next Thursday, April 14 at 4:30 PM at CIAS. All parents (and responsible teens) who would like to volunteer, please attend this meeting.
If you can get the word out to all in your group (WFHESL, homeschoolers in general, etc.) that is interested in enjoying this evening of fun and food, that would be great!
