To all CIAS Seniors & Parents:
Here is a recap of the topics we covered in yesterday's Senior Workshop:
1. Choose what color cords you would like to order for graduation (see attachment). E-mail the school back with your order.
2. Prom Ticket info has been e-mailed and MAILED to you last week. Details for meeting beforehand to eat dinner at Wintzel's Oyster House are enclosed.
3. Progression of pictures (as requested previously) for the Graduation Memories DVD (we need these whether you are walking in the CIAS graduation or not) by Monday, March 26th.
4. Fax us an unofficial PSC transcript (printed from your Spyglass) by Friday, March 16th.
5. An OFFICIAL transcript from PSC/UFW/JDCC/GSCC; request this from the Registrar's office by Monday, March 26th (see attachment). Have them sent to your chosen colleges too.
6. E-mail the school back with the names of the colleges and universities that you would like to receive your final transcripts
7. Do you need to take another SAT or ACT? Register for the SAT at
www.collegeboard.org and for the ACT at
www.actstudent.org using the CIAS CEEB: 101-614. There are only a few test dates left, so get this done ASAP!
8. Fill out the FFAA at
www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org/SSFAD/home/ApplyHere.htm by Monday, March 26th (it takes 15 minutes). Your current GPA (missing a few records still) is 3.8 weighted and unweighted. This is required for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship application process to begin.
9. Fill out the FAFSA at
www.fafsa.ed.gov/ by Monday, March 26th. This is also required for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship application process to begin. I have entered your academic data so far, but cannot put your app through evaluations until these are done by you.
10. If you are dual-enrolled at a state or community college, have you qualified to join Phi Theta Kappa? If you do, you need to apply ASAP, if it's not too late. This membership can be worth $4000+ in scholarship money towards your BA or BS degree. Contact the PTK office at PSC at ptk@pensacolasdtate.edu. Or visit their website:
www.pensacolastate.edu/phithetakappa/faq.html 11. We need the following records for the current Grade 12 school year: Attendance Report, Community Service, and any other courses you were were working on (see attachments).
12. Academic Resume (see CIAS Graduation Manual for instructions and sample) by Monday, March 26th.
13. Spiritual Gift Analysis (see CIAS Graduation Manual for instructions and website) by Monday, March 26th.
14. Career Aptitude Results (see CIAS Graduation Manual for instructions and website) by Monday, March 26th.
Take advantage of your Spring break (especially if you are a student at PSC) to get these taken care of.
Please confirm that you have received this e-mail. It is very important that we receive the records that we need!
