Dear CIAS Parents & Students:
CIAS is in the midst of becoming an approved Step Up For Students partner school. This is an income-based scholarship (the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship- FTC) as well as a special needs scholarship (the Personal Learning Scholarship/Gardiner Scholarship- PLSA).
Here is the website that provides information for Parents: www.stepupforstudents.org/for-parents/
Income-based Scholarship Application:

You will not be able to specifiy CIAS as your receiving school yet, since CIAS is not quite official approved, but you should go ahead and apply for the 2016-17 school year ASAP, as the application process takes some time, and then specify CIAS as your child's school later.
We are excited for this opportunity for our families and students!
More About the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship- FTC
More than 478,641 scholarships have been provided to low-income students in Florida grades K-12. Could your child be next?
In 2001, the Florida Legislature created the income-based Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program to assure that low-income children have more learning options. The scholarships are based on financial need, not how well your child does in school. Families may choose between financial assistance toward private school tuition and fees, or with transportation costs to attend a public school in another county.
Both the private school scholarship and the transportation scholarship have the same application and eligibility process.
Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and can be transferred to other eligible schools if the student moves within the state, or simply wants to attend a different Step Up partner school.
These scholarships can help cover private school tuition and fees, worth up to $5,677. The scholarship can pay for the following school expenses, in this order until maximum award amount is reached, or until all fees are satisfied, whichever is first:
Tuition
Books**
Registration
Transportation
Uniforms**
Testing
Other
** Applicable for books and uniforms sold by the school, not a third party vendor.
Students who qualify will receive financial assistance toward either private school tuition and fees or transportation to a public school in another county/district.
Students entering Kindergarten must be 5 on or before Sept. 1.
Students entering first grade must be 6 on or before Sept.1.
Household income must be at/or below the income criteria found in the chart below.
If a member of the household receives SNAP (food stamps), TANF, or FDPIR, the student may qualify.
