Lutheran Services Florida presents...
Santa Rosa County LSF Teen Court
Teen Court is a non-judicial alternative in which teens, under adult oversight, conduct a trial to administer sanctions to their peers, ages 10-17, who admit to first-time misdemeanor offenses.
It is based on the philosophy that juveniles judged by a true jury of their peers are less likely to continue to continue unlawful behavior. In addition, youth that have never been involved in the judicial system are given the opportunity to receive one-on-one training and mentoring by positive adult role models in the community.
How can Volunteers get Involved? Volunteer middle school and high school students, with adult supervision, who have received training in courtroom protocol, the judicial process, and the responsibilities of the various court personnel, conduct the program. No fees are involved for volunteers.
What are the Benefits? For Defendants: A Court of peers Avoid formal misdemeanor charges A second chance Individual supervision 90% of the 150 youths that are tried in the Teen Court program each year in Santa Rosa County do not commit repeat offenses.
For Volunteers: Community Service hours for scholarships Career Exploration Develop leadership and speaking skills

The BIG DIGTeen Apologetics ConferenceYearly conference held in August www.family.org/bigdigevents/bigdig/- What will your teens say when they face the tough questions?
- Do they believe in the credibility of the Bible?
- What will they say about absolute moral truth, heaven and hell, even the existence of God?
