The Statewide Course Numbering System has renumbered many postsecondary foreign language courses to distinguish by course number those that are four (4.0) or more credit hours from those that are three (3.0)credit hours. The Dual Enrollment Course - High School Subject Area Equivalency List, approved by the Articulation Coordinating Committee, guarantees that a four-credit foreign language course completed through dual enrollment will earn one (1.0) high school credit. The Comprehensive Course Table (CCT) has been updated to reflect these course number changes. On the CCT you can now tell, by course number, if a dual enrollment foreign language course is a four or more-credit course earning 1.0 high school credit, or a three-credit course earning 0.5 high school credit. If a student takes a dual enrollment course(s) that earns 1.0 high school credit, the foreign language waiver will not need to be used if/when the student has a 1.0 credit secondary course or if the student takes two or more dual enrollment courses that earn 1.0 credit each. The Foreign Language Requirements page on our website has been updated to reflect this new information. Please visit www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org/ssfad/bf/flrequire.htm to view the ways in which a student can meet the foreign language requirement and how to use the foreign language waiver.
