OPTION #1 @ CIAS We are administering the IOWA Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) and the high school Test of Academic Proficiency (TAP) again this year. CIAS testing session is on April 4-7, 2005, at Liberty Church this year. We will be testing from 9 AM to 12 PM. Please fill out and return the registration form with your child(ren)’s information and payment by March 31, 2005. We do offer individual testing for select students in following weeks upon special request and agreement with Mrs. Julie Jones, our testing coordinator. Test Fee: $40 Liberty Church's website for a map/directions: www.libertychurch.netOPTION #2 for members of WFHESL Test dates for the WFHESL is set for March 23-25, 2005. Registration deadline is March 1, 2005. Contact Bobbi Grubb at 857-4428 to get a registration form. Test Fee: $20 for members, $30 for non-members, +$10 late fee if registering after the March 1 deadline. One (1) parent volunteer is required. OPTION #3 for out-of-town families Please contact Mary Beth at the school office for testing material information (BJU or CLASS) if you are living outside the state of Florida. ASAP: As soon as you receive the test results back from evaluation, send a copy of them to the CIAS school office for your cumulative file.

FOR ALL JUNIORS Now that the PSAT’s are out of the way and the results are in, it is now time for you to take your first SAT and ACT, if you have not already done so during this school year. You only need to take one of each during this school year. When registering, be sure to enter the CIAS high school number (CEEB) as 101614 so that we can receive your results!!!

FOR ALL SENIORS As we have entered your last semester of high school, you need to take one of more SAT and ACT to finish your high school testing history. Call Mary Beth at the school office on Fridays to register for test dates that are better for your records and scholarship applications. All seniors who have not taken a SAT or ACT at all this year, please register for one of each test at once!
FOR JUNIORS & SENIORS WHO ARE IN SPECIAL ACADEMIC PROGRAMS If you are enrolled in an adjusted or vocational academic program or are physically disabled, you need to register to take one each of the following tests before the school year is up:
* TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education ) * CPT (Florida Entry Level Placement Test- the Common Placement Test )
Information for these tests may be obtained from the Pensacola Junior College Testing and Assessment Center, Building 6, Pensacola campus. To make CPT appointments, please call (850) 484-1987 for the Pensacola Campus; (850) 484-2200 or (850) 484-2309 for the Warrington Campus; (850) 484-4410 for the Milton Campus. For the TABE, call 484-1987 for appointments and schedules.
ASAP: As soon as you receive the test results back from evaluation, send a copy of them to the CIAS school office for your cumulative file.

Several of you have asked what is the difference between all the IOWA tests. Here is a description of each from Riverside Publishers:
ITBS- (CIAS , WFHESL) An achievement test battery, to provide a comprehensive assessment of student progress in basic skills
TAP- (CIAS A high school schievement test battery, to provide a comprehensive and objective measure of students' progress in a high school curriculum.
ITED- (WFHESL) A high school schievement test battery, to access intellectual skills that represent the long-term goals of secondary education, particularly the critical thinking skills of analysis and evaluation.
CogAT- (CIAS A cognitive abilities test, usually administered with the ITBS or TAP for students whose learning disabilities need to be identified and documented.
