The FFAA is now open, as of Dec. 1, 2011. If you have not already done so, all college-bound seniors should fill out the FFAA (Florida Financial Aid Application) NOW! It HAS to be filled out before our graduation date: May 25, 2012.Steps Students Should Take to Complete the Application Process: Go to www.FloridaStudentFinancialAid.org. Select State Grants, Scholarships & Applications and Apply Here to complete and submit an online application. Select Programs Offered to view detailed state programs information. Pay attention to program deadlines listed in the application conditions section, the application results screen, and the application acknowledgement communication, sent to the student’s e-mail address provided by the student on his/her application. The FFAA will provide a User ID and PIN to each applicant upon submitting the application via the Saved Results Page and in an e-mail communication. Students can use their User IDs and PINs to check: - The status of certification(s) prior to the program deadline(s).
- The status of awards following the program deadlines.
- For notifications from OSFA regarding award status.
Note: The online 2012-13 FFAA will close August 31, 2012. By that date, all state scholarship and grant deadlines for the 2012-13 academic year will have passed and all school districts will have completed graduation (including summer session) for the 2011-12 academic year.

In Senior Workshops over this year, I have mentioned several times that both the FFAA and the FAFSA are now required for application in the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program. I have sent a separate e-mail regarding the FFAA. Here is the info about the FAFSA: Log onto www.pin.ed.gov/PINWebApp/pinindex.jspThis site will enable you to choose a 4-digit PIN number that you will retain and use for the rest of your college years. Then log onto www.fafsa.ed.gov/Click the ORANGE link button "Start Here." The steps will guide you through the process; it should take approximately .75-1.5 hours to fill out and enter all the info. You will need your Driver License number, your bank account $ info, and your parent's IRS tax return from 2011 (or 2010 if they have not yet filed for 2011). If you need HELP with filling out your FAFSA, please make an appointment for a consultation with Ms. Mary Beth on our Friday office days! Bless you all!
